Hi, I'm Casey!

TSI Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University

I spend my time thinking about the following questions

DO SUPER-MERCURIES EXIST?

Earth-sized planets are common in our galaxy, but do most of them have a similar composition to the Earth? Are there any super dense iron-rich planets like Mercury?

do planets and host stars have the same compositions?

The compositions of rocky planets did not fall out of a coconut tree: they exist in the context of the protostellar nebula that came before them!

DO earth-sized planets HAVE GASEOUS ENVELOPES?

Some planets the size of the Earth are too low-density to be purely rocky, and might host a gaseous envelope made of water, carbon dioxide, or an evaporated silicate mantle.
